’00 Nancy Edwards (Ph.D., social work) of Minneapolis is a senior clinician at Hazelden Foundation mental health clinic, an SSW adjunct faculty member, and on the Leadership Council for the Lesbian Gay Aging Issues Network of the American Society on Aging. She also is a ceramic artist whose work can be seen at the Radius Gallery and Northern Clay Center.
’96 Derek Sussner (B.S., design communication) of Chanhassen, Minn., had three pieces created by his company, Sussner Design Company, featured in the June 2003 issue of HOW magazine as part of a story about invitation and announcement design.
’95 Jennifer Wenger (B.S., interior design) of Plymouth, Minn., has been named a shareholder of BWBR Architects. Wenger is a senior interior designer with BWBR, where she has worked since 1996.
’94 Kristen Stanko (B.S., applied design) of Minneapolis was hired as a design director by Yamamoto-Moss, a Minneapolis-based creative services firm. She provides creative direction and leadership on multiple client accounts.
’93, ’98 Diane Hovey (M.S. design, housing, and apparel; Ph.D., family social science) of Maplewood, Minn., is executive director of the Family Institute for Creative Well-Being, an organization for families who have members with disabilities or chronic illness (www.familyinstitute-cwb.org/).
’93 Barbara Bradford (M.S.W.) of Minneapolis passed the LICSW exam and is now a senior social worker at the Minnesota Veterans Home. She is also an SSW adjunct faculty member and president of the SSW alumni society. This past summer, Bradford participated in the Funniest Person in the Twin Cities Contest.
’77, ’83 Katherine Swanson (M.S., Ph.D., food science) of St. Paul received the 2003 National Food Processors Association Food Safety Award for her contributions to improving food safety. She is director of global product safety for General Mills.
’69 Jean Brudevold (B.S., home economics) of Venice, Fla., is working as a costume designer for independent movies—most recently Real Treasure and The Bail. A textile artist as well, Brudevold also is working on wall murals for a local church.
’27 Irene Rolen (B.S., home economics) of New Berlin, New York, died on February 12, 2003.
